Elizabeth Warren is a Democratic member of the US Senate from Massachusetts. She was elected in 2012 and won the seat after defeating the incumbent Republican senator Scott Brown. She again went on to win her term in the office by defeating Geoff Diehl and Shiva Ayyaduriai.
On the eve of New Years 2019, Elizabeth Warren announced that she has formed an exploratory committee for the 2020 presidential race.
What is an exploratory committee?
In the US political system, an exploratory committee is an organization established to help determine whether a potential candidate should run for an elected office. It’s a mostly technical distinction that allows candidates to form an exploratory committee and begin raising and spending money on limited campaign activities like polling and outreach.

Elizabeth Warren hired Kane Miller, Emily Parcell, Janice Rottenberg and Brendan Summers for her exploratory committee.
Emily Parcell was Barack Obama’spoliticall director during his 2008 caucus campaign. She then went on to act as his state director in India during the general elections. Currently, she is also a partner as Wildfire Contract where she launched the firm’s direct mail division.
Kane Miller as well managed Congresswoman-elect Abby Finkenauer’s successful campaign in Iowa’s 1st district. He also worked as a regional field director for Hillary Clinton in 2016 and also went on to work for her in the general election as her state director.
Janice Rottenberg has experience in serving as the coordinated campaign director for the Iowa Democratic Party in 2018. Prior to that, she was the field director of the party in 2014. Like Kane, she also worked for Clinton in Iowa.
Brendan Summers was a senior adviser for Let America Vote, the progressive nonprofit run by Jason Kander. He has worked on various campaigns, including Bernie Sanders’ 2016 run as his Iowa and national caucus director.

Warren who is the first woman Senator of Massachusetts is expected to install Dan Geldon as her campaign manager. Dan Geldon was her former chief of Staff and along with that, also her student at Harvard Law School.
